We are home, at our house, safe & dry.
Our little lot was totally spared and the streets are all clear around us.
I hope I don't sound ungrateful, I'm just psycho tired and still reeling from the events of the last 24 hours! By ten am this morning, I felt like I had been hit by a mack truck - which I have been before (in a really gross car accident), so I speak from experience. (My husband just informed me it was a GMC truck, not a mack truck - either way, it was one big ole truck.)
When I walked in the door of our house at 1pm, I must have looked pretty gnarly because Lauren pretty quickly started baking some banana chocolate bread to help me make it through the day. I couldn't figure out what the heck was wrong with me - I felt like I had the flu and a cold and was in labor... and then I realized, in all the madness yesterday and today I had forgotten to take my thyroid medicine for two days - which is just long enough to cripple me.
Tonight I will be taking tylenol pm and tomorrow I will DEFINITELY be taking my meds.
Thanks Jesus for a dry house & a safe family.
Amen.

So happy to hear it! :)
glad everyone is okay!
and and on a more serious note - as a fellow synthroid taker andone who has had to be off thyroid medicine (sans thyroid) for 8 weeks at a time twice, you need to make sure your medicine is taken and packed when you travel - it's almost as important as your children! in fact, it's necessary for baby Tres! i don't even let myself pee in the morning without taking the medicine - maybe easier for me since I'm not preggo, but still...take care of yourself!!!
jessi- you're literally making me blush :)
i HAVE to tell you that your blog is what inspired me to write my own. i LOVE reading yours, and i have a good mind to just copy everything you do and pretend i did it first.
truth is, i totally have a crush on you and your adorable family. kristen's been telling your stories to me since, like, 2005, and i feel like/pretend like i already know you.
maybe some day we can all play...nick and dave can talk theology and we'll, i don't know, pretend we can have meaningful conversation with 5 kids squawking in our ears.
p.s. glad you're all home safe. hope your babes will sleep so you can sleep :) and i'm going to need to publish this if it gets any longer, sooo...
