When Jessi asked me to share on what I do to refresh I immediately thought of two things:
The first thing is to delight myself. When I say “delight” I don’t mean in myself but, delighting myself in the Lord. Do you know what the word delight means? I LOVE it’s meaning. To delight is to enjoy, to have joy in, satisfaction, etc. Doesn’t this sound wonderful! This is something that is very dear to my heart right now. My husband and I have gone through a lot of transition in the last year. We have relocated to a new town, joined a ministry that is new to us, and started homeschooling our son. Don’t get me wrong we love our new town, new job, and homeschooling but, sometimes it’s not always the easiest.
It can be hard and lonely at times! Me delighting in the Lord often takes the form of a walk on the beach or escaping to observe God’s creation. It is a time to reflect and thank HIM for what he has done and what he is going to do in my life. I think that is why I find delighting myself in the Lord so refreshing. See when those times of difficulty and loneliness come i think of the word delight. I find joy and satisfaction in who the Lord is in my life. I DELIGHT myself in the ONE who created me, rescued me, and restored my relationship with HIM. So there it is my first and foremost “refreshment”: To delight myself in the Lord!
The second thing would be to create and give! Ok so I have two things for the second but, these are two of my many passions that I have been able to combined into one (JayAmyCreations). See I love to create new twists on anything that I can get my hands on and give it back to others. Birthdays, Baby showers, Weddings, Christmas, Mother’s Day, etc. (honestly anything I get to call a celebration) gives me the excuse to break out the sowing machine or jewelry tools to create, make, and give! Two of my favorite things in the world. This is so refreshing to me. It is a way to get lost in my own little creative world and then see the joy that it brings to others.
So here I am refreshed. I am delighting in the Lord and creating and giving!
