family update, boston business

For the sweet friends who are wondering - we're still moving to Boston. We didn't just give up on our church planting dreams halfway across the country.

It's been a little over four weeks and we're still moving forward. We knew it would be 4-6 weeksish till we got on the road and headed up north and it's looking more like it will be 8 weeks. Our absolute goal is October 1st which is so, so, so, so SOON. And yet, still so far away!

We're still plugging away, well, Nick is still plugging away at fundraising. I'm plugging away at encouraging him and running after our kids and packing up our stuff every few days to visit different people & different cities. And the Lord is still doing all the work and opening the doors and making the headway.

Our hearts are growing, growing, growing for our future city and we just can't get wait to get there. But we're trying to enjoy this time too, before we get down to business. The Lord is really beautifully sustaining us during transition and I'm so thankful for the ways we've grown as a family over the past few weeks.

Here's some scripture I'm thinking on this morning in relation to planting, praying the Lord makes this true for us in Boston.
Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. (2 Corinthians 6:2-10 ESV)
So, yeah. That's what we're up to.
Praying that the Lord would build these things in us for the sake of the gospel.
Fundraising.
Going city to city.
And trying new hair gel.
