Nonny List Numero Dos

Well, I was going to hold my blog hostage and not write again till more of you wrote your four things, but Nick is on the way home from getting my mom at the airport and my words are just bursting forth because I'm so excited.

Also, I just found this from her second to last trip: Nonny List Uno

- make my mom a new blog header, the last one I made her is struggling
- do atleast one day of p90x doubles
- laugh as my mom takes in how big Benjamin is!
- enjoy as she sits in wonder at alllll Elias is saying these days, video chat does not do him justice!
- have a playdate with as many of my friends as possible so she can met the kid's friends and experience the Mars Hill Baby Boom (that is not so much a boom, since it is constant)
- take her to coffee
- beg her to help me set up Elias' new bedroom & playroom
- maybe take a nap while she plays with the babes
- complete my goal of having all the laundry in the house clean at one time
- run some errands that I wouldn't normally be able to do without help!

So, it's only about thirty-six hours that I have her, but I'm definitely taking a different approach to this trip. She usually begs me not to entertain her or do touristy things, but I always do because I want her to have a relaxing vacation. This time - I'm taking her up on her constant offer to help and just pretending that I have family that lives in town for a few days and hopefully enjoying every minute of having my mama around.

My mom & I are both intense list makers. We're psychotic planners and we ALWAYS feel better when there is an agenda. So, in honor of her short three day visit - here is my list of things I want to accomplish.

- Make a cake together for Glory's birthday party. I even made some fondant to use for decorating! I would like if it looked like this, it will probably at best look like this.
sidenote: anyone worked with fondant before? I'd love your tips!
- Sit & drink coffee together.
- Take her to Mars Hill.
- Watch her play play-doh with Elias. Which, you know, he calls "cookies".
- Let her enjoy how intensely excited the kids are in the morning.
- Maybe get a manicure together. puh-lease Nick?
- Watch her get a kiss from Glory.
- Sit with her, Kal, Kelly, & Marilee and let her see some of the
amazing women God has given me here.
- Have her help me start planning our place in Boston, maybe help me look online for one!
- Let her laugh at Tres' enormous growth, meaning my enormous growth, since January.
- Take her to brunch at Hector's in Kirkland & scout to see if we can see
Jason, the Bachelor, then throw stuff at him.
- Have someone else to laugh with at how passionate my
quiet husband becomes when watching March Madness. It's a sight.

Ok, that should do! Hurry up Nonny! We can't wait!

Elias Powell - joy of our universe

Listen... Nick and I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE Elias. I mean, we really love him - He is our absolute joy. Our families love him, a lot. Our friends love him, a lot. It is really encouraging to me that not only does Elias love being around people, but in general - he is a blessing to the world when others get to spend time with him. Like Donald - who spent the day with E today. We're really thankful for friends who not only love Elias, but also really love to spoil him when we refuse to. (And Nonnies & Rubies who do the same!)

A few more updates:
Thanks so much for all of your encouraging words about Glory. I wish I could sit with each of you and tell you how awesome it's been to have your prayers & support. My prayer is that we continue to give Glory to God - our daughter and the worship He is due.

We get a little family time tomorrow! Elias is really excited to see his Nonny - my mom is coming in to town for a short little visit and we all can't wait! Nick and I are going to wait to go to church at night, so we're doing something as a family we've never done before - going out to breakfast! We can't wait. Family time is so precious to us and we're really excited for a few hours as a quartet (even if one of the family is still in utero).

I hope everyone is having a great start to fall! We cannot wait for it to get cold so we can bundle up Elias in his plethora of coats! For some reason - that kid has more coats than anything else:)
