fashion friday, the REAL dilemma

So, it's been awhile - but I'm back.
These days I don't much have time for skirts or shoes, I've got a new house to get ready for.
(where will that house be? family update blog coming soon)

And this is the real question:
WHAT kind of bedding do I get
for Elias' new toddler bed?!

a) the semi-metro/semi-expensive bedding collection that I actually
like & would flow with the decor of the rest of the house? b) the slightly-understated/sort-of-retro cars ensemble
that could make his new big boy room whimsical & fun?

or c) the super-cheap thomas the train bedding that he would be OBSESSED
with & would make him thrilled to go to bed, while it would
make you upchuck in your mouth each time you saw it
because it is well, look at it. Those train faces creep me out.

If Dad says ok, I think I'm going to have to go with option c.
It will make me want to vomit, but it will make his short-little-toddler-life.

fashion friday

I'm bringing it back, sort of.

I love Christmas gifts - LOVE. More than Christmas gifts, though, I love stocking stuffers! Just little things that someone finds on Christmas morning and thinks, "yes! what a great addition to my life!"

So, while all of these items may not be fashion based, they are all stocking stuffers I'd like to get for the ones I love.

For my husband:

The Mac Logos Software, it's not cheap but it's certainly small & I'm sure he would consider it something that would greatly benefit his life!

My son:

He loves to play outside and I'm sure if we get the foot of snow we're expecting this weekend, he's going to NEED to be outside!

My girl-girl:

Enough said. Enough said.

For my Mama:

I like these way better than the ones I got you last year!

For my sweet nieces, so I can cook with them the next time I see them:

Lar-Lar:

Some fashion wellies for her walks with Beu.

Shawn:

Kal:

The preggos living with us right now:

For Kel:

A necklace with Kanah & Grace's initials on it. And maybe I could then get her to tell me #3's name or atleast the first letter:)

for sweet Marilee:

a new necklace for you:)

& Angie -

For all the sweet girly gifts you're going to get for Ava.

and lastly for my sweet sister, Ruby

well, because, she works at a jail. Sorry, Kate.

Fashion Friday

We're back.....

So Lauren showed me these awhile ago and now I'm obsessed with them! This fashion friday is in honor of Sara Brinton, a mama & friend who is in my small group & our writing circle, in the hospital on bedrest. She's been on bedrest for the better part of her pregnancy and is working super hard to keep her little boy inside of her. If I had an extra $80, this would be hers today!

So my suggestion for today is a designer hospital gown. This one snaps down both shoulders for easy breastfeeding and snaps all the way up the back so you don't get that windy feeling. Also, it comes with a coordinating ribbon so you can not look so much like a massive whooshing wilderbeast. Seriously - the day I had Glory, they had me walk to the OR myself and I was half hyperventilating because everyone could see my wobbly bits and have not caring because I looked like an inflated kite flying down the hospital hallway.

But seriously, I'm going to be saving my pennies till June for one of these puppies. I hate hospital gowns and since I have c-sections, it's usually a while before I can get up and put clothes on after having my babes and then - there is nothing worse than putting pants on right over your fresh cut. I found this cutey hospital gown on Etsy but if you google "designer hospital gown", see what you come up with!

Fashion Friday

edition #3

ANY OTHER PROJECT RUNWAY FANS? HOLLA!

No pictures this week, other than the beloved Tim Gunn, but seriously is anyone else pumped for the finale on Wednesday? Delurk fashion lurvers! Say your favorite!

.... we could make it interesting & make some wagers on the winner......

I'll be the first to divulge: My favorite is Leann from Portland. She is super talented and her collection looks beautifully made and thought out, HOWEVER, I don't think she is going to win. Unfortunately, I think it's going to be the prickly Kenley-bear. I do think her 50's inspired designs are creative and fun-looking, I just personally prefer Leann a bit more. But who knows - Heidi & Tim, that's who!

Fashion Friday

So... edition #2 of fashion fridays is dedicated to the most fashionable woman I know -
Gloriana Eloise Connolly.
Even when she was in utero, she made it clear to me that she was no wall flower. The normal pale pink layette would just not suffice. Purple is her color, anything animal print makes her shine, and sassy is her middle name! Well - not really. But baby girl, if I had all the money in the world - these are the items I would buy you pronto! Until then - we will more than make do and practice working with what we've got! I can't wait till you can help collaborate or be a guest blogger!

to begin - a chic sweater dress for rainy days

next, something to sleep in that helps us remember your wild side even when you look so peaceful in rest!

a onesie that you can spill sweet treats on...

some tights with sass since fashion is ALWAYS in bloom.

a ladylike hat for the everday...

and lastly, some bloomers with kick so the little boys in the nursery at church will be reminded of their fate if they try and touch you.

Love you sweet girl.

fashion friday?

Ok - here is the last little concept: Church & Friday Nights.

look #1:

(DRESSy but still comfy)

And look #2:

(imagine the khaki pants minus dorky red shirt)

Look #3:

...this is Glory's favorite: she thinks animal print is to die for!

and finally, look #4:

you may send those smokey quartz earrings straight to our PO Box.

Ok, that was too much fun. Maybe from now on I'll have Fashion Fridays!
love. love.
